The NCAMC Annual Summer Academy is traditionally held in early to mid August and includes approximately three days of training and networking opportunities. A Master Municipal Clerk Session is usually offered in conjunction with the Academy.

The location of the Academy is rotated among the following three general locations in North Carolina: Western/Mountain, Eastern/Coastal, and Central/Piedmont.
