Submitted by Jim Byrd, Committee Chair, Town of Wilkesboro

The Membership Committee of the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks is made up of individuals from across our wonderful state that are willing to reach out by recruiting non-member Clerks to join our origination.  As promoted, many benefits are to be had with becoming a member which include but not limited to:  the opportunity for professional growth, “Minute by Minute” newsletter, MORE manual, Clerk’s Reference Guide, access to the Clerk Net Listserv, continuing education and scholarship opportunities, affiliations with the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM), and the UNC School of Government, invitations to attend education and conference opportunities, opportunity to be involved with this association, networking opportunities with Municipal Clerks across the state and friendships that last a lifetime.  For the low annual price of $66 for clerks, $56 for deputy/assistant clerks or $25 for retired clerks, all this is available.

Members of the Committee annually send information to non-members encouraging membership.  As we are made aware of new appointments that are made throughout the year, we continue recruitment.  Our members would love to hear from you or better yet, meet you through e-mail, at a future Spring Regional Meeting, Annual Conference (generally in August rotating across the state) or at the Annual Joint Conference with County Clerks in January.
